CEA-761-B defines minimum specifications for a one-way data path utilizing an 8 VSB trellis or a 16 VSB remodulator in compliance with ATSC Standard A/53, Annex D. It also defines on-screen display (OSD) capabilities. CEA-761-B applies to any type of device used to connect to an ATSC compliant digital television receiver (DTV) receiver. Devices meeting this standard should interoperate with any ATSC compliant receiver that also supports "monitor mode."

CEA-799-A specifies syntax and semantics for bitmapped graphics data typically used for on-screen display (OSD). CEA-799-A is applicable whenever it is necessary to specify a standard method for delivery of bitmapped graphics data. The pixel formats include optional alpha-blend and transparency attributes to support composition of graphics over analog or digitally decoded video within the display.

CEA-679-C describes the physical and electrical parameters of the interface for conditional access (CA) devices for consumer electronics (CE). It specifies the interface to a CA device that performs the signal access and, optionally, descrambling and key generation. This interface definition allows the entire CA system to be removable and hence replaceable. Very few constraints, if any, are placed on the CA system architecture.

This standard, ANSI/CEA-805-E, specifies how data services are carried on analog Component Video Interfaces (CVI), as described in CEA-770.2-C and CEA-770.3-C. CEA-805-D applies to all CE devices carrying data on the CVI vertical blanking interval (VBI). All CEA-805-E references to component video and/or component video interfaces are analog only, and no reference to digital is implied.
